Success Stories
Huckleberry...................................ADOPTED
I received a call about this handsome boy from a woman who saw her neighbors dump him in a park. It turned out that he'd been purchased with two other bunnies as an Easter gift for some children and were, of course, quickly forgotten in their cage in the back yard. Well, along came sexual maturity and they started to fight. After Huck had a chunk taken off the tip of one of his ears, they decided they couldn't provide him with a good home and instead of finding him one, they took him to the large wilderness park across the street and let him go. I'm sure they thought he'd have a great life enjoying the outdoors. I'm sure they didn't realize that he'd be prey to the cars driving by on that big street, the dogs people walk there throughout the day, and local wildlife including possums, coyotes, and raccoons. After he'd been neutered and fostered to get used to living as part of a family, he found the most wonderful mom in the world. Congratulations to Huckleberry and his new mom!
Annabelle (tortoiseshell) and Georgia (black)...................................ADOPTED They were rescued as older kittens from a feral colony in a field right off a very big, busy street where their littermates were sadly hit by cars. When we first took them in, they were terrified of humans and too emaciated to be able to have spay surgeries and needed foster care while they were socialized and put on weight. At first they hid and hissed, but after a week or so of respectful human interaction, they started to become very curious about those strange beings bringing their food and water. It was only another week after that before they were accepting a few gentle strokes on the head and began tentatively purring. Once they saw how great people could be, they progressed by leaps and bounds and began waiting at the door so they wouldn't miss a second of their precious human time. Now they are incredibly affectionate and are only shy when meeting someone new for the first time. They spent a couple months looking for a home with several near misses and finally found the most wonderful dad in the world -- Congratulations to Annabelle, Georgia, and Garry! Georgia & Annabelle

Rizal (grey), Diva (mocha) and Angel (brown)...................................ADOPTED These three sweeties were living on the street at a busy intersection right across from the railroad tracks. We were alerted to their plight when we received a phone call from a woman whose miniature pinscher brought her a baby bunny in his mouth. We picked Diva up and upon surveying the area found several bunnies living under a neighboring house. Rizal had a sharp piece of bone sticking out of his leg and our vet said it was an old break that had healed that way, leaving him with a jagged lump of bone constantly cutting through his leg's muscle and skin. Angel was uninjured, but all three were underfed and very under-loved. After medical treatment and a bit of foster TLC, the found a wonderful new mom who will make sure that they spend the rest of their lives happy, healthy, and never doubting that there is a human who will overloved them every chance she gets. Congratulations Angel, Rizal, Diva, and Rhea!
