How The Menagerie came to be I grew up in a family that always had two 75 to 95 pound dogs and sometimes had rabbits, rats, mice, turtles, snakes, hermit crabs, or fish. From my parents I learned to respect others and enjoy our differences as making us unique. I had many opportunities to learn about nature – including Hidden Villa, a working farm in Los Altos Hills, which has numerous educational programs. Every summer, I went to their summer camp. There I learned a deep respect for animals, a respect that led me to become vegetarian, foster orphaned kittens, and work at the humane society.

I look forward to serving your needs. Alyssa Shifrin,Owner, Operator, Animal Lover.
